Simplified reality: a virtual reality design style where typical elements of physical reality (chairs, stairs, tables, buildings...) are retained as convenient user interface elements and in order to create a realistic look&feel that facilitates suspension of disbelief, but without much detail. In online VR worlds like Second Life, simplified reality permits achieving a realistic effect with a simple design optimized for machine performance.
